MY LOUD
Step Up Revolution showcased performance art and demonstrated how it can become protest art. Strong characters each brought their own form of loud to the storyline. Personality, talent, style, passions, dreams and more added to the essence of the characters.

We all have essence. We all have our own special loud. This unit asks to you consider ideas and ways of being loud in general and personally. To begin this journey you will conduct some research about protest art as well as develop a mindstorm about the topics of 'Loud' and 'My Loud'. You will finish by designing a 'My Loud' concept poster.
Task 1: What can LOUD mean/be about? Collect and create definitions for LOUD. How many can you find? How many can you create? Make a LOUD synonyms and antonyms table to display in your concept poster.

Task 2: Read widely to develop responses of your own to the following questions

-
What is 'protest art'?
-
How many forms of protest art can you identify?
-
Collect examples of different types of protest art. For each example state as best you can its title, form, the artist/s name/s, the issue it is commenting on, the message you believe it is conveying. Include at least one Australian piece.
-
BIBLIOGRAPHY required.

Task 3: Outline your own unique LOUD. How do you express yourself from day to day? What is your style? What are your fashion quirks? Which are the brands that you like? What are the things that define you - your personality, passions, talents, likes, dislikes, dreams, sayings, etc. Which issues in the media capture your attention? Who are people that inspire you through their actions? What are some topics that you feel strongly enough about that you would protest for them? If money was no object how would you set up your life? How do you see your future loud?

Finalise: Using the thinking you have done design a poster or Glogster to illustrate your unique concept of LOUD. Use pictures, statements, drawings, lyrics, photos of people and anything else you can think of. Scan, photograph or embed the poster in your folio.
